FOOD PANTRY

Don’t forget Food Pantry Sunday is the first Sunday of every month so bring your canned goods to Sunday School.

Please keep in mind due to the economy’s down turn this last year more families are experiencing hard times. The additional needs have quickly drained the pantry’s supplies.  We need additional supplies to help these families in need.

Please help us provide our brothers and sisters in need a helping hand.

We need your help.

LITTLE ANGEL BAG MINISTRY

This ministry delivers over 200 bags on a yearly basis to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.  The PICU staff issues the bags to families that live out of the Birmingham area and arrive in an emergency situation or to families that did not have time to make preparations.

The bags include the following items, if available:

  • Large or small notepads

  • Ink pen

  • Emery board

  • Comb

  • Kleenex

  • Snack bags of gum and candy (nothing that will melt)

  • Toothpaste

  • Toothbrush

  • Shaving cream

  • Razor

  • Deodorant

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Lotion

  • Soap

  • Mouthwash

  • Magazines (women’s, men’s, children’s, religious)

  • Small stuffed animals

  • Sewing kits

  • Shower caps

We are blessed that several members of the congregation contribute travel-size toiletries, while we usually purchase the bulk of the toothpaste, mouthwash, shaving cream, and deodorant.

Approximately four bag deliveries per year are made to the Children’s Hospital.

GARDENING MINISTRY

Our group consists of 25 volunteers who maintain the landscaped areas around Cain’s Chapel.  We change out  the annual flowers twice yearly and trim the bushes as needed.

We are so blessed to have a dedicated group of workers that have a desire to maintain the beauty of the Cain’s Chapel church grounds.

If you have questions regarding the Gardening Ministry, or if you are interested in volunteering in this unique area of ministry, please contact the church office at (334) 569-2375
